Internship Program
The Department’s curriculum does not include a mandatory internship. However, although not compulsory, undertaking an internship is encouraged as it benefits students by preparing them for professional life, providing insights into the fields they plan to work in after graduation, assisting in career planning, and offering an opportunity to observe how the theoretical knowledge acquired in the Department is applied in practice.
Our students have internship opportunities in public institutions such as the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, the Ministry of Trade, the Revenue Administration, Agricultural Credit Cooperatives, as well as in corporate companies like Man A.Ş. and BOTAŞ, and in various public and private banks. Some students have been able to secure employment in these institutions as a result of the connections established during their internships.
Internships may begin at the end of the second academic year at the earliest, and the duration must not be less than 20 consecutive working days. The insurance of student interns is covered once by the University. Students who meet the internship requirements and successfully complete their internship, after submitting all necessary documents, have the Summer Internship course (ECON 400, non-credit, 5 ECTS) recorded as successful on their transcripts.
